Patoosa

Your steps.
Their problem.

Patoosa turns your daily step count into a race against your friends. Walk more to pull ahead — then throw a banana at whoever is winning.

The daily race

Every step moves you down the track

Patoosa reads your step count — from Apple Health on iPhone, Health Connect on Android — and turns it into distance on a shared road. Everyone in the crew is on the same road, all day, and the leader at midnight takes the day.

Keep scrolling. He keeps walking.

That's the whole game, really.

Three ways to ruin
someone's afternoon

Power-ups move people around the track. Your real step count never changes — nobody can take a single step off you.

The bat

Knocks a rival back 750 steps. Aim it at whoever is smug.

The rocket

Launches you forward 500. The only honest one in the bag.

The banana

Half the time it slips and helps the person you threw it at.

Power-ups

Then it gets petty

Win a day and you earn coins. Spend them on a bat, a rocket or a banana, pick a victim, and watch the cutscene. It only moves people on the track — your steps are yours.

Crews

Six letters,
and you're racing

Make a crew, send the code, and the daily race starts the moment a second person walks in. No usernames to hunt, no friend requests to approve, no follower count.

One person on their own isn't a race, so nothing counts until somebody joins you.

Your patoosa

A little guy who is unmistakably yours

Four body shapes, a wardrobe of shirts, hats and eyes, and new accessories dropping every week. Everything is bought with coins you won by walking.

Five levels. No shortcuts.

Steps and wins raise your level, and it never goes down. You cannot buy your way up — coins are for hats.

A step counter that
isn't after your data

Reads steps. Writes nothing.

Patoosa asks Apple Health, or Health Connect on Android, for one thing — your step count — and never writes back to it.

No ads. No trackers.

There is no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK in the app. Not throttled, not configured off. Absent.

Only your crew sees you.

Your name, character and daily steps are visible to the friends in your crew, and to nobody else.

Leave whenever.

Delete your account from inside the app. Your profile, steps, coins and crew membership go immediately; past races stay, without your name on them.

Android beta

On Android too,
if you'll test it

The Android build is finished and racing — it just isn't on the public store yet. Google asks for twelve people to run a new app for two weeks first. Two steps and you're in.

1

Join the tester group

Google will not let anyone install a test build unless they are on the list. Joining the group puts you on it. One click, nothing to fill in.

2

Open the tester link, then install

Say yes to the test and Play hands you the download. Give it five minutes after step one — Google takes a moment to notice you joined, and until it does this page will claim you are not a tester.

Steps come from Health Connect on Android, so you'll be asked for that once. Stick around a fortnight and you're the reason it reaches the public store — leaving early resets the count for everyone.
